Naoshi was born in Iwate, Japan. She uses a unique and characteristic way of sand drawing called “sunae”.

She combines various colors of sand to adhesive art boards to create surrealistic and pop world.

In 2004, GIPS STUDIO printed a series of Naoshi’s illustration on postcards. She gained much exposure and she became more focused on the art world.

From 2007, she participates in wide range of activities outside of Japan, including group exhibitions in the United States, Italy, and France.
