Chris Long is known for his funky images of glamorous women. In 2003, he created the character designs for the animated commercials of Mattel's MyScene toys, and in 2004 his vignettes of contemporary life will illustrate "A Girl's Guide To Etiquette", the first in a series of books to be published by Ryland, Peters and Small. His work also appears regularly on book jackets and in magazines in the UK and the US.

Chris was born in Blackpool, England, and he studied Fine Art at Hornsey College of Art in London. After graduation, he spent a year in Rome where he drew "fumetti" for the radical magazine Frigidaire. He continued to work in illustration on his return to London and during the mid-eighties was a regular contributor to the New Musical Express. His clients included Phonogram and Rough Trade Records among others, and he was featured in Cynthia Rose's book Design Art Dark, an overview of artists and designers whose work grew out of the dance music scene in London and the UK.
